In this world, there are some people whom Allah chooses to lead others. To fulfill this mission, they are blessed with talent, ideal manners and lifestyle, and thorough knowledge of religion. One of such people is Alahazrat Imam Ahmed Raza Khan, who translated the Quran into urdu as ‘Kanzul Iman’, and left many memorable writings, including the famous ‘Fatawah Rizwia’.

Imam-e-Ahlesunnat Mujaddid-e-Deen-o-Millat Maulana Ahmed Raza Khan’s degree of intelligence and love for reading was so great that he was never taught a complete book by his teachers; instead he read only quarter of the book from them and used to read the rest himself before memorizing it and reciting it to his teachers.

The author of the great book Bahar-e-Shariat, Sadr-u-Shariah Maulana Amjad Ali Azmi, after completing his religious studies began teaching, but after sometime left it and started his medical practice, as he was also a physician. When his teacher Maulana Wasi Ahmed Muhaddis Surti knew about this, he became very upset. When Sadr-u-Shariah moved towards Bareli, he wrote a letter to Alahazrat , asking him to request Sadr-u-Shariah towards the rejoin the profession of teaching. When Alahazrat came to meet Sadr-u-Shariah  showing him the letter, he convinced Sadr-u-Shariah  in a wisdom filled way, so that he came back to teaching leaving the medical field.

Mehdi Hasan Mian states, ‘Whenever I went to Bareli, Alahazrat himself served me meals and washed my hands. As usual, once while washing my hands, Alahazrat said: “Please give these rings to me.” I removed them and gave it to him and then went to Mumbai. On returning from Mumbai to Marhera, my daughter said that she had received a parcel from Alahazrat containing the rings and a note which said: “Respected Princess, these gold items are for you (because men are forbidden to wear them).”

Maulana Syed Ayub Ali states that once he was with Alahazrat before Zuhr, when a Hindu came and said: “I have some questions; if you answer them then my family and I will become muslims.”

As the Azan had been called out and answering those questions would take time, Alahazrat said: “It is time for prayer, just wait and after that all your questions will be answered, Inshallah.”

The hindu waited, and after the prayers, he asked the following questions:

1. Why was the Quran revealed slowly and not in one time? As it is the Word of Allah, He had the power to reveal it in one time.

2. When Allah called your Prophet on the night of Mairaj, why did He send him back? He was Allah’s favourite?

On hearing these questions, Alahazrat said: “I will give the answers to your questions now, but you should remain keep your promise.”

When he agreed, Alahazrat said: “The answer to your first question is that the thing which is available when it is needed holds high consideration. This is why Allah Ta’ala revealed His Word step by step.” He then continued, “Man is born as a baby, then becomes an adult and then an old person. Allah had the power, why did He not send him as an old person?” He further sated, “Man practices farming, first a plant comes out, then a spike is produced, and after that the corn is obtained. Allah had the power, why did He not send grain?” After this, he gave quotations from different books to satisfy the Hindu.

On hearing this, the Hindu had no option but to agree. Satisfied, he now demanded the answer to the second question.

Alahzrat explained: “Suppose a King chooses His caliph to manage His kingdom. That caliph acts according to the King’s instructions. The King, pleased from his service, summons him to bestow gifts, not to suspend and stop him from going back.” On hearing this, the Hindu said, “You have satisfied me completely and I have understood. I am immediately bringing my wife and children here to accept Islam.
